Course Contents

The course content therefore draws upon from the structure of the IATA DGR Manual
and will consist of the following topics:-
  • What are dangerous goods, Regulation for transporting dangerous goods by air and Indian Legal regime
  • Applicability of the Regulation, shipper’s and operator’s responsibilities with respect to transport of dangerous goods and training requirements.
  • General Idea about the Different hazard classes of dangerous goods and proper shipping name and UN number
  • Understand and recognize the Marking and labeling requirements, types of handling labels.
  • Shipper’s declaration
  • Recognize hidden dangerous goods when accepting general cargo
  • Requirement for handling, storage and loading of dangerous goods; separation of different classes of dangerous goods, provision for CAO packages
  • Placarding of ULDs
  • Emergency response procedures; reporting of dangerous goods incidents and accidents
  • Preparation of Pilot Notification (CAT8)
  • Provisions for passengers and crew
